Over the last decade DFG has been developing hybridisation technology for the aerospace industry and in particular helicopters, in the form of motors/generators, controllers and power inverters. Projects include micro hybridisation of a gas turbine, back up motors for main engine failure and generation. Powers range from 20kW to 150k W. System topologies include both permanent magnet and induction.
We have a number of future programmes for different customers. As is common in the industry, we have a worldwide irrevocable license to use the technology we have developed for our aerospace customers in domains outside of aerospace
