We are delighted to confirm that we will again be hosting
the final of the EESW Student of the Year Awards
Dr Tom Parry Jones EESW Student of the Year 2019 Award
To celebrate the EESW projects of 2018-2019, EESW is running its
eighth annual Dr Tom Parry Jones EESW Student of the Year
Award. All sixth form students from across Wales who took part in
the EESW scheme and gained a Gold CREST award in 2019 are invited
to enter a proposal explaining how they have been involved with
STEM activities and why they think engineering is important to the
Welsh economy. The winner will
receive £800 towards the cost of
studying a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) based
subject next year. There will also be a prize of
£400 each for two runners-up who continue to study
STEM subjects upon leaving school. The winner of the competition
will be announced at the Welsh Automotive Forum dinner on December
5th.
Last year's winners have attested to the benefits of winning this
award beyond the financial rewards.
In November 2018, I was lucky enough to attend the Welsh
Automotive Forum dinner as a finalist for the Dr Tom Parry Jones
Student of the Year Award. I will never forget that
evening.
Daniel Clarke
EESW is a fantastic and enlightening scheme and I'd
like to express my sincere thanks. It was an honour and a privilege
to be part of its Student of the Year competition.
Neve Parker.
