Dr Tom Parry Jones EESW Student of the Year 2018 Award

To celebrate the EESW projects of 2017-2018, EESW is running its seventh annual Dr Tom Parry Jones EESW Student of the Year Award. All sixth form students from across Wales who took part in the EESW scheme and gained a Gold CREST award in 2018 are invited to enter a proposal explaining how they have been involved with STEM activities and why they think engineering is important to the Welsh economy. The winner will receive £800  towards the cost of studying a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) based subject next year. There will also be a prize of £400 each for two runners-up who continue to study STEM subjects upon leaving school. The winner of the competition will be announced at the Welsh Automotive Forum dinner on November 29th.
Past winners have attested to the benefits of winning this award beyond the financial rewards.

"Receiving the EESW Student of the Year Award in 2016 was a huge boost of confidence for me, and the experiences I gained through EESW have been a topic of conversation at every interview since."
Bethan Wilkinson

Every aspect of the EESW student of the year award, from filling out the application form, to receiving the prize money for winning, has been an aid to me in my undergraduate career thus far.
Angus Coyne-Grell.
