Mike Evans - Director

Michael started his career in engineering over 33 years ago as a mechanical apprentice with S.U Butec a BL Cars group company which was later taken over by a Japanese multinational automotive component manufacturer. His career progressed within the company becoming a senior design engineer for the Advanced Engineering department responsible for machine and automation design, production method improvements and new product introduction. In 1993 he founded a new company "EBS" and is now the managing director of a successful specialist engineering company that Designs and Manufactures Production Machinery, Automated and Robotic Systems for various market sectors from Automotive to Medical to countries around the world such as Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey, Spain, USA and Russia with a team of experienced engineers and apprentices. EBS Automation has doubled its turnover and has plans in place to double again in the coming years. He has gained a wide level of experiences travelling to many parts of the world including Japan, India, UAE and most European countries visiting and working with engineering companies on specific projects. He has visited and reviewed skill levels of SME's in India with the liaison of the SME chamber of India. As Board Member and Director of Industry Wales and the Welsh Automotive Forum he is supportive of industry and has given his time to initiatives such as the Automotive Academy Curriculum Steering Group for the U.K, he has Chaired the SEMTA Mechanical & Electrical SSG for the UK, member of SEMTA regional council, EEF's regional advisory board and is an advisory board member at Coleg sir gar for Curriculum & Standards and has a proactive partnership with Coleg Sir Gar for Apprentice Development.
