The Government is “hell-bent” on driving the road transport industry off the road, says the RHA chief executive Geoff Dunning.
UK hauliers are currently paying record prices for diesel fuel but, if the Chancellor goes ahead with his planned fuel duty increase of 2.5 pence per litre on April 1, it could mean the end of the road for many of them.
Ford will sell electric vehicles in Europe with five full electric or hybrid vehicles across its C, CD and light commercial vehicle ranges by 2013.
Specifically, Ford will launch two zero-emission full battery-electric vehicles including the Transit Connect Electric light commercial vehicle in 2011 followed by the Ford Focus Electric in 2012. Three other vehicles – two next-generation petrol hybrid-electric vehicles and a plug-in hybrid – will be introduced in 2013.
Volkswagen Insurance Service (Great Britain), the insurance arm of Volkswagen Financial Services (UK) Limited, has signed a long term contract with Allianz Insurance plc for the provision of motor insurance products to customers of the Audi, SEAT, Škoda, Volkswagen passenger cars and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brands.
The initial product line up consists of complimentary seven day drive away insurance and a five star Defaqto rated annual motor insurance.
Criminal gangs are importing GPS jammers from China to help them steal expensive cars or transporters with valuable loads will soon be in for nasty surprise.
Now TRACKER Locate will in turn jam the jammers and instantly alert police to the location of the criminals.
